| Portman Lodge is the main wing and entrance into a large Victorian building originally known as St Martin’s House. The house was built for Lord Portman’s estate in the late 19th century and is thought to have been a residence for choristers for St Martin’s church. The majority of the original fixtures and fittings remain, in particular the attractive Victorian tiled floor in the entrance hall and corridor
